The word 'personality' is derived from the latin word 'persona', which means 'mask'. Personality  is refers to that ''an individual or a person which is much more than his outer appearance''. Personality is also coined or a set of characteristics which possessed by a person influences his/her emotions, motivations and changes in behaviours in various situations. Personality also refers to the patterns of thoughts which came in our mind, feelings and social influences etc. Till now there is no universal consensus on the definition of personality and values. However, the following definition which was given by most of the scientist and successful persons can be beneficial for us to understand or to recognised the clear cut meaning of personality.

  • According to MC Dougall, ''Personality is a synthetic unity of all mental and physical function in their initimate interplay'.

  • According to freeman, '' Personality is the integrated organisation of all cognitive, conative, affective and physical characteristics that impose an individual and his uniqueness''.

  • According to Warren, ''Personalityis the entire organisation of a human being and a stage of his development''.
